Reclaiming the Narrative: From System-Dependency to Biological Literacy.
Women share stories of feeling unequipped during pregnancy, only to face unnecessary interventions, trauma, and confusion once their baby arrives. The result is an unsustainable strain on midwives and generations of mothers feeling powerless.
The Thompson Method exists to change that.
In an era of unpredictable supply chain failures and increasing pressure on healthcare resources, the most resilient health intervention we have is an informed mother. It has never been more critical for organisations to join forces to bridge this self-care gap.
We are inviting organisations, healthcare providers, and global health advocates to partner with us in a Prevention First Model. This model moves beyond "reactive" crisis management and focuses on:
- Restoring Autonomy: Giving women the foundational knowledge before birth so they can make informed, powerful decisions about how they feed and birth their babies.
-
Securing the Natural Supply Chain: Ensuring that even when external systems are under pressure, the biological bond and nutritional flow between mother and baby remain uninterrupted.
-
Supporting Midwifery Excellence: Equipping the frontline with a proven framework that honours the physiology of birth, reducing the systemic burden and allowing midwives to return to their core expertise.
The Thompson Method is moving beyond a solo mission. We are seeking partners to help us deliver the knowledge that restores a woman’s power and secures the health of the next generation.
Why Partner With Us?
★ Give Women Their Power Back
Pregnant women prepare for breastfeeding before their baby arrives. By providing them with the knowledge of how their bodies and babies work together, they move from a state of reliance on a broken system to a state of informed confidence. An educated woman is an empowered mother.
★ Support Our Overburdened Midwives
Midwives are the backbone of maternal health, yet they are currently under immense pressure. By equipping midwives with The Thompson Method, we give them a gentle, effective, and evidence-based framework that:
- Reduces time spent on crisis management (nipple trauma/mastitis).
- Decreases hospital readmission rates.
- Restores the joy and professional satisfaction of supporting natural physiological transitions.
★ A Better System for Better Outcomes
Our extensive video library featuring Dr Robyn herself with daily support to our AI-driven Dr Robyn Knowledge Base (built on 10 years of implementation), we have the infrastructure to support women through every challenge from nipple pain, and milk supply issues to navigating the return to work and weaning phases.
The Thompson Method works for every mother and baby.
Real results, backed by research.
"If we get women feeling confident and capable with their first two breastfeeds, it sets women up for successful breastfeeding for the next six months. And that's what we're doing here with The Thompson Method." ~ Prof. Sue Kildea

Meet The Woman Behind The Thompson Method
Dr Robyn Thompson, Founder
RM, RN, M&CH, BAppSc, PhD, OAM
After spending decades guiding women through labour and birth as a midwife, Dr Robyn made a curious observation: Women who gave birth to their babies at home had significantly better breastfeeding outcomes than those who gave birth in hospital.
Dr Robyn made it her mission to find out why that was the case and, at the age of 70, she was awarded the world's first PhD in nipple trauma.
Her seven years of PhD research became the basis for The Thompson Method, and her online programs have helped tens of thousands of women prevent and overcome common breastfeeding challenges. In 2023 she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her contribution to Midwifery and Breastfeeding Research.
