The education phase of the TMBP program requires approximately 12 weeks to finish, at which point you'll take your final written assessment (allow a further 30 days).

Next, you'll complete 150 observational hours of pre-recorded breastfeeding consultations (provided by the Thompson Method), followed by a final practical assessment.

You have up to one year to complete your observational hours to receive your TMBP credential.

Tuition for the TMBP program is $2,987 AUD. Payment plans are available.

You have access to the entire suite of Breastfeeding Academy resources for an entire year. Maintaining your TMBP certification and ongoing access to the mentorship group requires an annual renewal fee of $440 AUD.

Assessment for the online education modules include multiple choice questions to demonstrate your comprehension of the information shared.

The final written assessment will be a series of written case studies requiring written responses, based on a detailed history.

Once you have accrued the 200 observational hours, you'll be eligible for the final practical assessment. In this assessment, you will demonstrate your ability to communicate verbally and offer guidance over two, one-on-one breastfeeding consultations. The practical assessments are observed by Dr Robyn Thompson and Rachael Austin individually.

If you're interested in achieving Interim Certification as a Breastfeeding Educator, you will be required to complete the Educator version of the practical assessment, which prepares you to present the Beautiful Breastfeeding™ program.

Once you’ve accomplished certification, you’ll be supported by our business team to help you set up or grow your private practice and commence providing services.

TTM Practitioners are experienced health professionals, who will be required to provide skillful Assessment of each unique breastfeeding woman and her unique baby, within the Registered Health Professionals individual scope of practice.

The Thompson Method promotes the importance of closely, quietly and gently observing while listening carefully while being with each woman. 

It's important to Dr Robyn that those whom she entrusts to share her knowledge and experience with breastfeeding mothers one-on-one are truly proficient. The interview process determines whether you and The Academy are a good fit for one another.

No. If you're eligible to enrol via the Practitioner (TMBP) pathway, it's important you do so. The TMBP curriculum is more detailed and will provide the education and skills you require to assist mothers and their babies within your registered scope of practice.

As a certified Practitioner, you have the option of presenting the Beautiful Breastfeeding Program, as Educators (TMBE) do. However, The TMBE pathway does not provide the required education to work within the scope of a Practitioner.

It is our aim to become formally accredited by an Australian University, but we're not there yet. Once we have formal accreditation, all graduates will be provided with the opportunity to seek Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) towards a formal qualification.

No. The Beautiful Breastfeeding™ program is not currently extended beyond individuals and is not designed for the hospital setting. To be able to maintain an excellent standard of education, interaction and support, enrolment capacity for this cohort is a maximum of 15 Practitioners and 25 Educators.
