When I was faced with mastitis/engorgement/oversupply, I had resources to refer to. I felt supported just by being in the group.

I had a traumatic birth and aftercare experience BUT the Thompson’s Method gave me confidence to breastfeed exclusively from day 1. When I was faced with breastfeeding challenges: sore nipples/mastitis/engorgement/oversupply I had resources to refer to. I felt supported just from being in the group! I am now seven months into my breastfeeding journey and I’ve never had to pump or use formula. I’m so proud of myself and so thankful to Dr Robyn for this wonderful program.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️ I will forever be a fan and advocate!

I was terrified of mastitis and felt so not in control of my body. This group and the course are awesome and empowering.

I want to share a success story! I like to check in from time to time with the good stuff because I remember the times I felt hopeless and this group made all the difference in keeping me going.
Ok, so I have had blocked ducts on the right side a couple of times and the first time it lasted for about 3 days. I was terrified of mastitis and felt so not in control of my body. I came on here and was directed to the videos and q&as to help me, and I cleared the duct. The second time, I went back to the videos and cleared it in about 24 hours.
Yesterday was a really emotional day for me. Our province has extended travel restrictions through the holiday season which means i won’t be seeing my parents for at least a month and they will miss their only grandchild’s first Christmas. So, I was sad and feeling very hopeless.
I realized my right breast had suddenly gotten very hard, swollen and tender and I panicked for a few seconds. Then, o got myself together, nursed my son on that side, then stuck my hakaa on it with a warm compress and fed my son on the other side while relaxing with a bit of tea and tv.
I heard a pop, as if the hakaa had popped off, but then noticed it was still securely attached. When I removed the compress, I found over 4oz of milk in the hakaa and my boob was retuned to normal. The pop noise was the duct clearing and the pressure releasing! Lol. I had a needed chuckle and felt very proud of myself for solving the problem!
This is just a long-winded way to say, this group and the course are awesome. They are empowering. We mamas have had quite the year, but we’re doing the mom-img thing in the best way we can and we should all be proud.
I hope everyone and all the admins and Dr Thompson have a safe and healthy holiday season!
Photo of my nearly 16 week old looking very pleased with himself, as we all should.

I wish I knew what I know now and what I learned from this program. I am so grateful!

Baby girl is about to turn 5 weeks tomorrow and I cannot believe it that I’ve successfully nursed her for all this time.
I didn’t nurse my son because my mother who never breastfed was around in the first couple weeks and she pushed me into formula when he was crying and hungry and I was vulnerable. In week 3 with him I got mastitis and was on antibiotics for 10 days and couldn’t get out of bed and had no knowledge on how to combat it and continue my journey so I decided to give up. I wish I knew what I know now and what I learned from this program. This program gave me the confidence to develop a special bond and to nurse my daughter and it has been amazing. I haven’t had to pump at all which is a gift because I hate it, and everyday we are fine tuning this special nursing relationship more and more. I am so grateful.

We have made it through engorgement... I truly believe that without this group, I would have never had the stamina to continue trying.

I just wanted to share a sincere thank you to Dr. Thompson and all of the brave, amazing women who share their stories here each day.
Violet Ruth is 2 weeks old, and this group and the Thompson Method have given us the courage to keep working though our breastfeeding journey. With my first, our journey was over before we even left the hospital, and it left me feeling like less of a mother (silly, I know, but that's how I felt). I was determined that with Vi, I wouldn't give up so easily.
We have made it through engorgement when my milk came in, we made it through having to supplement feedings with expressed breastmilk due to weight loss after discharge from the hospital, and we are currently working our way through nipple confusion because of the supplementation. But this morning, she took to my breast without any fuss or protest, and it was such a beautiful moment, I *had* to share and say thank you. I truly believe that without this group, I would have never had the stamina to continue trying.
Keep it up Mommas--we've got this! 💜💜

Today we’ve reached our 12 months breastfeeding milestone 🙌🏽 I followed my instincts and we found our own groove.

Today we’ve reached our 12 months breastfeeding milestone 🙌🏽 with no plans to stop until James decides. I’d like to thank Dr Robyn from the bottom of my heart for her help and support. I’ve been really quiet on here, but as Dr Robyn says, I followed my instincts and we found our own groove.
Our start wasn’t easy, labelled as high risk from 13 weeks, I knew that my pregnancy and birth would be highly managed in the system. The gentle birth and breastfeeding plan gave me a great template to put forth my wishes to the MFM team. I had a call with Robyn prior to birth so that I could best prepare for what lay ahead and to help with expressing colostrum which would be needed.
Born via c-section we didn’t get skin to skin, James was whisked off to special care soon after birth. I was only able to hold him for the first time at three days old, after he’d had surgery to repair an abdominal defect. For the first week he was tube fed my EBM. With the knowledge I’d gathered from the course I was able to push to get started on breastfeeding, otherwise he could have been tube fed for much longer. I’d been very clear that no dummies or bottles were to be used, especially in my absence. I refused to let the nurses in special care force James onto my breast and ignored theirs and (the rather hopeless) lactation consultant’s recommendations to use the cross cradle hold.
With further support from Robyn, I was able to advocate for James and myself far better; things like not mixing large volumes of my EBM together for his tube feeds and got him out of there two weeks after his birth (at times it felt like we were in jail), at their slow pace we could have easily been in for another 1-2weeks. I told all of the nurses about the Thompson method and whilst I’m sure I annoyed some of them because I wasn’t being compliant and following their guidelines, I do think some of the younger ones took notice and were going to research it more.
Once home I called on Robyn again to help with positioning and a blocked duct, all resolved with her wonderful advice . I have no doubt that our breastfeeding journey may not have even begun or may have been curtailed without the help of Dr Robyn and the Thompson method program, so for that I will be forever grateful! 🤱🏽💕

We nearly gave up in the beginning due to mastitis... we officially made it a full year of breastfeeding thanks to this program!

We did it!!! We officially made it a full year of breastfeeding thanks to this program! No way we could've done it without this program. We nearly gave up in the beginning due to mastitis and nipple trauma, but we pulled through. I still can't believe my baby girl is a year old now 😭❤️ thank you so much Dr. Robin and team for everything! We are going to continue to breastfeed for as long as she wants it, but if she chooses to no longer want breast milk before she reaches 2, I won't be too upset because I didn't even know if we would make it this far. Thank you so much! Pic of birthday girl eating a cupcake ❤️😁

Now, with this baby and this amazing program, it's night and day. 6 months in and going strong with no end in sight.

I just wanted to share this win with this amazing group. Today, my second beautiful girl is exactly the same age as my first when she abruptly stopped breastfeeding,. Cold turkey. She was teething, had a cold and at the pressure of well meaning family and friends I had stated her on a bottle and she never went back no matter what I tried. Breastfeeding had ALWAYS been painful with my first so I was relieved and devastated all at once, but so so frustrated with no support.
Now with this baby and this amazing program, it’s night and day. We’ve been through thrush, mastitis, tongue tie, shield use, you name it, but we have made it through everything with support and confidence because of Dr. Robyn and the amazing admins here. I LOVE breastfeeding my baby, pain free and happy.
We are now nearly 6 months in and going strong with no end in sight.
Thank you Dr. Robyn Thompson and the whole team from the bottom of our hearts, I only wish I had found you sooner ❤️

I am so grateful that I never gave up and found the Thompson Method when I was at the verge of quitting from severe mental isolation and mastitis

I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to Dr. Robyn & her team for your loving support for mothers who don't want to give up on breastfeeding and safely exploring for alternatives!! The program was hands down the BEST money I spent on baby care education for me. :) So grateful to have found you!! Prior to giving birth, I was not aware that breastfeeding journey would be ever-changing as our little ones grew and as our hormones would change. It has been quite a ride! The method I learnt from the hospital was not just-not-working. It was damaging my nipple, mental state, my relationship with breastfeeding. It was excruciating to say the least. I am so grateful that I never gave up and found the Thompson Method when I was at the verge of quitting from severe mental isolation and mastitis from continuous severe nipple trauma. My goal was to breastfeed my little girl as long as I could with month-to-month milestone in hopes that we could hit the two year mark if that was even possible. :) Today, at 14 month mark, I am happy & bitter sweet to say, my little angel is self weaning. She is not desiring to take breastmilk any more, and I am so darn proud of myself & us of where we are. I am open to continue to offer it when she needs comfort, but it's looking like she is ready to be on her next adventure of discovery. Looking back, I cannot even believe we lasted 14 month...for that I am forever grateful to this tribe!! Big hugs & best wishes to you all with wherever you are in your breastfeeding journey! :)

My nipples were cracked and bleeding, I was just so so tired. But I continued after purchasing the Thompson Method. We are now 6 months in and counting!

Happy breastfeeding week!!! This journey has been so many things for me. Exhausting (mentally, physically, emotionally), joyful, painful, peaceful. When I first brought Harper home from the hospital I thought “there is no way I can do this”. My nipples were cracked and bleeding, I stayed engorged. She would nurse every 2 hours for an hour at a time and I was just so so tired. But I continued after purchasing the Thompson method and learning about my baby’s digestion and the mechanics behind breastfeeding. And now we are 6 months in and counting. I didn’t start this journey with a goal. I said I would try, and that’s what I have done. And I will continue to try as long as this sweet girl wants to nurse. I’m lucky enough to feed her and pump enough to donate as well so I can feed 2 babies. ❤️❤️❤️

It wasn't until we got home from the hospital that I was able to implement all the things I'd learnt from the program that our journey started improving.

hello, just a quick post to say that without the valuable information provided on this program and from this group my little man and I would have absolutely given up within the first few weeks. I had significant nipple damage, a traumatic birth, colic, oversupply and mastitis all within the first 6 weeks and some pesky midwives who interfered or didn’t identify his incorrect latch. it wasn’t until we got home from the hospital and I was able to implement all the things I’d learnt from the program that our journey started improving. 2 months in now and my nipples are completely healed, he feeds like a champion, and I’m so much more relaxed come feeding time. I’m very thankful that I purchased the program and would absolutely recommend it to all first time Mums. thank you Dr Robyn ❤️❤️

With 5 cases of mastitis in the first 10 weeks, a fussy baby and an oversupply issue, your team gave me the knowledge and confidence to keep on going 🙌💪

Just want to say a huge thank you to Dr Robyn Thompson - The Thompson Method and her team, we are 5 months EBF thanks to you all! If it wasn’t for the help and support I got during and following the breastfeeding rescue session I wouldn’t have got through the first few challenging months.
And boy were they challenging!! With 5 cases of mastitis in the first 10 weeks, a fussy baby and an oversupply issue, your team gave me the knowledge and confidence to keep on going 🙌💪
And to think the first couple of months I was worried if my baby was gaining enough weight 😂
Wishing you all the best over the Christmas & holiday period! Thanks again for all your help I am so thankful and great full ❤️
